Our Featured Artist
It’s been a long time since I’ve visited this blog. Hopefully you’ve not all abandoned it. Things are happening behind the scenes, but they’re not so interesting that I’ve something to post about.
First off, our Vendor Chair reports that many of our vendors will be returning. I believe they’ve got a few more weeks to send in their deposits, and then she’s got a waiting list of vendors to fill any remaining spots. I’ve seen some of the newcomers, and I’m going to start saving my dollars now. I suspect the Vendors and I will be seeing a lot of each other in 2010. 
I’m not sure I’ve mentioned our 2010 Featured Artist. Her name is Anna Koelewyn, and she’s from Hanford, CA. She’s been a long time entrant of Best of the Valley, and I’ve enjoyed watching her blossom and transform. She began quilting 11 years ago, as strictly a traditionalist. She took many classes, began teaching quilting, branched out, and now she’s doing exciting art quilts.
How do I know all this? Well, last night I had the privilege of seeing her give a trunk show at the Common Threads Quilt Guild. If what she brought is anything to judge by, you’re really going to enjoy seeing her booth in April. I know that I am looking forward to helping her select what will hang in it in a few months. I hear that she is working on wondrous new creations especially for the show.
I guess that’s about it. The Show is perking along behind the scenes. Be sure to mark your calendars, since it’s going to be a week earlier this year. Save the dates! April 9, 10, 11, 2010. See you there!!
