Welcome to Best of the Valley Quilt Show!  Plans are well underway for our 23rd edition, to be held April 13-15, 2018.  Vendor space is rapidly filling, so contact us soon to reserve your spot.  Every once in a while there is a last minute change/cancellation, but you don't want to miss a chance to be part of our show.  Check our vendor page and ask them for references.  We treat our vendors exceptionally well.

The special exhibits are reserved, and our Featured Artist is hard at work.

Despite all of the work behind the scenes, it is you and your quilts that make our show The Best.  If you are working on something special, and have yet to enter your work, perhaps this is the opportunity you've been waiting for.  Entry forms are available to download or, come January, you can enter online on our Entry Rules & Forms page.  Competition entries are due February 14, 2018.

If you don't have time to enter the judged show, CA residents can enter the BOTV Challenge. This year's theme is “Snapshots of the Valley.”  I walk around with my camera, and all kinds of things catch my eye.  Maybe it's a landscape, maybe it's a pet.  It could even be amazing rainclouds in the sky, or your favorite pair of shoes.  Anything that prompts you to take out your camera in the Central Valley is acceptable for your entry.  Your narrative may play a key role, so don't neglect to tell us about your entry.  The entry forms are available on the Entry Rules and Forms page.  Challenge Entries are due on March 1, 2018.

Our 2018 Featured Artist is Debbie Van Fossen of Visalia, CA.  Debbie is our only repeat Featured Artist.  Her first appearance was during “the year of the tent,” which was a difficult year for all.  We have invited her back, so that we can do it right.  Her quilting is exceptional.  She is truly a Machine Artist.  Debbie and her Bernina, well, what can one say, other than that together, they create perfection?  Absolutely beautiful.

This year will see an exhibit of the most recent SAQA trunk show.  This display of fifty 10”x7” art quilts is like rocket fuel to one's creative juices.  “Can that be done to/on a quilt?”  Yes, yes it can. The 2017 SAQA Trunk Show will fascinate even the most traditional of quilters.  “How did they do that?!”

And, of course, we will have our usual array of spectacular competition quilts, quilts by quilters 80 and older, quilts by quilters under 18, hand-crafted dolls, and other special surprises.  If you have never been to the Best of the Valley Quilt Show, 2018 will be a year you won't want to miss.

The above is but an overview of what to expect in 2018.  Don't forget to send in your entries, then mark your calendars, and come to the show: April 13-15, 2018, 10-5 Fri/Sat, 10-4 on Sunday.  $10 at the door, or $15/3-day pass.

We look forward to seeing you!!
